A Kingdom Perspective on Fundraising
Raising support for your church or nonprofit can be a daunting and uncomfortable task. This is especially true if the bulk of those funds are to pay your own salary. It can feel overwhelming, self-serving, and awkward.
How then should you pursue this task in light of this reality? It’s imperative to remember and draw others’ attention to the mission, your calling and God’s promises of provision. John 15:16 reminds us:
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
When we meditate on this truth and lean on God, trusting that He will provide for the good work to which he has called us, it sets our perspective on him and his purposes rather than ourselves. We are inviting others into this kingdom work, to be a part of something with everlasting value and impact.
What an amazing privilege it is to take part in something that will produce fruit that will abide - fruit we will enjoy and celebrate on earth and in heaven. When viewed this way, we may begin to feel excited about inviting others into this work by supporting it financially.
Auxilio’s pray for those of you who are actively fundraising is from 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12:
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
May you feel a sense of renewed purpose and excitement in your support raising. The Auxilio team is honored and grateful to be a part of your mission, God’s kingdom work and it’s everlasting impact.
